| The one I keep coming back to consistently..so they must B doing something right.......

Rating | I have worn many shoes by Asics..but I keep coming back to the GT model for several reasons...mainly, it fits the foot best-of-all models. The heel is narrow and the toebox is wide..the cushioning is excellent (there is something magical about the Gel) and the support is not-too-restrictive (I had MAJOR problems w/Brooks Adrenaline). The 2140 is neither too firm nor too soft..the mesh is very breathable..and twice in a row now I have had the good fortune to find these for 50% off list from retailers due to our current economic downturn. If you don't walk away with anything else from my review, remember this: Best lightweight stability shoe..best cushioning..best fit...toughest materials..slightly better than average durability (all running shoes wear quickly-if they didn't, you'd never need another pair.) | Amazing shoe... but....
(2009-07-15) |
Rating | I run 5 miles almost everyday and it was time to get new shoes. I have been having problems in the ball of my foot- I have a slight flat foot and a flexible arch. This shoe took away my problems in the ball of my foot. The cushion at the ball of the foot was great and overall the shoe felt as if it was custom made for my feet- and I cant say that a lot cause I have very narrow feet. However, the only downfall I had was that the arch support was too high (or intense) for my feet and I got blisters on my arches. I loved these shoes for the short time I had them- I had to exchange for a shoe with a lower arch support. (Write a review) (Reply to this review) |

Rating | The asics GT 2140 is simply the best support shoe available. Nothing comes close, and I've tried a lot of shoes. I've tried Brooks, Adidas, Nike, and other Asics, but these shoes work for me. The amount of support is just perfect for me. (Write a review) (Reply to this review) |

Rating | The 2140 is the same shoe, for the most part, as the 2130. Both are high quality and comfortable, with excellent cushion. If you pronate while running (as do 80% of runners), then this is the shoe for you. The 2140 is a very good follow-up to the 2130, with a slightly stronger mid-sole. The new mid-sole is supposed to be longer lasting than the 2130, but it does not feel any different (a good thing). (Write a review) (Reply to this review) |

| Sneak Peak...Shhh
(2008-10-30) |
Rating | I managed to get a pair of the new Asics GT-2140. The 2140s are the latest in this legendary series. I've been running in various versions of the 2000 series for many years, through both good and poor versions. I liked the 2130s a lot, although I thought some of the older versions were better.
The 2140s are very similar to the 2130s in how they feel and flex. I found them responsive and lively. Cushioning is evident, but under control. This is a pair of support shoes, so we don't want too much cushioning in them. The sock liner, is where this shoe shines in comparison the the 2130s. You will find it much more comfortable than the previous version.
In summary, if you liked the 2130 you will love the 2140. If you hated the 2130, there probably aren't enough changes to make you happy. This version makes a great shoe even better. (Write a review) (Reply to this review) |
