| Great for the Long Run
(2009-05-27) | Rating | As an aging and now slow runner, I look for a shoe that provides me with a good amount of cushioning without a lot of weight. There is a fine balance. I think the Ghosts accomplish finds that balance. The first thing I noticed, when I put them on, was that they are comfortable. Unlike a lot of neutral trainers, these shoes provide a little support for my sagging arches, not enough to provide an over pronation support, but enough to make my feet happy. And they stay happy even on my long runs.
Although these are the best shoes I own right now, it is hard for me to say they are the best shoes I've ever owned, which is why they only get a 4.5 score. (Write a review) (Reply to this review) |

| Poorly designed shoe
(2008-11-12) | Rating | Have been running in Brooks for a couple of years now. The Ghost looked interesting, so I gave them a try. First off they run about a 1/2 size short. When I sized up to accommodate for this, the upper was now very baggy across the toe box, yet pinched my little toe because they narrow very quickly in the toes. After about 100 miles in these shoes, I developed severe arch pain, where I could not curl my big toes. Switched back to old shoes and it immediately went away. A few weeks later I gave the Ghost another try, and had the same issue. The toes of the shoes curve upwards more than any shoe I have ever worn, probably the cause of this issue for me. Have been very happy with all my other Brooks products, but I would rate this shoe in the bottom tier of shoes I have ever worn. (Write a review) (Reply to this review) |

| Best shoe since the Burn
(2008-11-11) | Rating | I was a long-time fan of the Brooks Burn and can't find them anymore. I tried the Ghost and love it. There is plenty of cushioning in the toe, the heel-toe transition is smooth, and they are very responsive. I'll train in them but also use them in longer races.
