Fancy Sock Liner No Good (2011-03-14)

A pretty good shoe and I will consider buying it again
I got these for 30 dollars at New Balance Harrisburg, who has since stopped selling online. Perhaps they were loosing money on returns but you can still physically go to the store. Their buys still come up in Google searches. Immediately I did not like these shoes. I have a wide mid foot. Bought the 4 E and still felt too narrow on my rte. Foot that is slightly wider then my left. Put them away disgusted. I looked at the sock liner. The liner has lateral structure on it. More medial structure for stability, but I knew if I was going to ware the shoe, I couldn’t have any lateral structure, It made the shoe narrower. It was digging into the outside of my foot causing pain. I was lucky that I had bought other NB shoes in the same size that I didn’t care for. The shoe was much better for me with an average sock liner in it. It made the shoe slightly wider. The shoe also comes with N- Lock. If you tie the laces too tight, the mid foot becomes too tight. The laces are slightly short. You can’t use all of the eyes if you have wide feet like I do. The shoe has many flaws but for the price it is an excellent motion control shoe. I still use these shoes for work. You can’t buy orthodox for what I got these shoes for. The arch support is phenomenal and even with the cheap insoles I added, they have excellent cushioning. Probably not the best running shoe for me but an excellent walking shoe or working shoe. I have an average arch that collapses causing over pronation. I find that stabiliy is better than motion control for me when it comes to running. Try the 769, 760, or 860. The 1226 supposedly is better than any of these models at a higher price.

A great shoe that I will buy again
I'm 5'11, 300 pounds big female. I love to exercised and just started jogging not too long ago. I'm also a visiting social worker and I walk alot on a daily basis, so needless to say I needed a overall good shoe that can take a New York City pounding. I bought these shoes and immediatealy fell in love with it. Right from the box, it felt like I have worn this shoes for months. It was definetly worth the price.
