Event Description: Take bus from finish to start!

Starting on the shores of beautiful Flagstaff Lake, the course winds through several 4,000’ peaks of the Appalachian Mountains, on Maine Scenic Highway Route 27, then follows the Carrabassett River for the final 16 miles.

RUN FAST!

Despite the mountainous surroundings, Sugarloaf’s course has been ranked among the top 15 fastest in the nation! The first 5 miles are flat; miles 5 through 10 are rolling hills with a sustained gradual 2-mile climb at mile 8. The last 16 miles are downhill and flat for a net elevation loss of over 500’ from start to finish. The Sugarloaf 15K follows the final miles of the marathon to a shared finish, has a net elevation loss of 300’ and is nearly void of hills. It is potentially one of the fastest 15K’s in New England. Both courses are USTAF certified.

Registration: $40 before 5/13/06; $50 before 5/20/06; no day of race registration. Entry includes runner’s packet, commemorative t-shirt, race support, post race breakfast, finisher’s medal, post race massage and bus transportation to the start. Marathon registration closes at 7:00 pm on Saturday, May 20, 2006. Proceeds to benefit the Sugarloaf Region Charitable Trust. No refunds on entry fees.
