Walking in the Snow

Two miles of walking today…during a brief snow shower.

Including some walking in my training is the second resolution I am making to my training schedule. (The first resolution being to wear racing flats during training at least once a week.) I’m not talking about a Gallowalking run/walk approach. I talking about 2-5 mile walks during my lunch break. In my opinion, walking and running are like oil and water and should not be combined in a single session. There are some exceptions: new runners who are still working on building an aerobic base; ultra-runners and ultra-distance triathletes who need to spend massive amounts of time on their feet; and for people who like an especially slow warm-up.
